Create My Keepsake DT Tryout

I saw that CMK is having a really cool DT tryout and I just had to give it a shot! They want you to put together a kit from your own stash and make 2-3 layouts from it. I think it's the neatest way to try out for a DT! I ended up making 4 layouts. First up is the kit I assembled...

I had a blast creating layouts just from a kit! I'm so going to have to do this more often.

A Little Bit of This… A Little Bit of That

Shesh. Time sure does fly! So many layouts to share and so little time. Ok lets start with The Scrapbook Site contest. We are now in the final week and I’m still working on my final layout. For week 4, our focus was to use only products from Piggy Tales with a hint of pink or brown. Here is my layout.



For week 5, our focus was to use only products from Sassafras Lass with some bling accents. I definitely had fun blinging out my layout.



The Scrapdango contest is also drawing to a close. I finished my final round layout and to my surprise, I actually like how it turned out even though we had some steep requirements this round.



Here is a recap on the other weeks of this contest since I never got around to posting any of them. I’ll go in reverse order. In week 3 we were tasked with doing a 2 page layout. It’s been FOREVER since I’ve done one and I had the hardest time coming up with an idea.



In week 2, we had to do a layout based on a sketch and then as a bonus, to do a layout based on your own sketch. Here is the original sketch by Angie, along with my take on it.

For week 1, we had to a do a layout about girls having fun. I’ve had these pictures for years and I’m glad I finally found a use for them.



In other news, I’m also in a Summer of ScrapLoving contest over at ScrapLove. We are now in week 3 and man have these challenges been challenging! For week 1, we had a do draw inspiration from a mosaic that was provided. I ended up feeling inspired by the ocean pictures so I did a layout of my daughter playing with water. The coolest part of this contest is that each week they have a celebrity judge pick their top 3 favorites for the week. Can you believe it! My layout got third choice by Amy Tan!!! I was in cloud nine when I saw that!



For week 2, we had to create a layout using 3 non-scrappy items. Another challenging task but I went with the flow and love how it came out.

Reviving the Mojo...

So to get the creative mojo flowing once again, it was time to take a little break from scrapping. Guess what I've been going? Let's check it out. :)


This was an AWESOME movie! If you have not seen it, run don't walk to the movie store.


I started reading this series. It is now one of my favorite books! Love it. Great storyline and a quick read too. If you like vampire stories, I think you'll like this one but be forewarned, it's not your average vampire story. It has a unique twist on it that I love about this author.

I've also done some new layouts that I'll post soon so be on the lookout for those.

Round 3 and Other News

Over at TSS, I completed my third layout for the MMASS Contest. This week's challenge was to use mainly Doodlebug products and to doodle on your page as well. Here is my layout:

Yep! You guessed it! I'm joining another contest starting next week! This one is over at ScrapLove. The mojo is flowing so I figured I'd better use it before it's all gone. :)

Round 2!!!

Another week has past at MMASS Round 2 over at The Scrapbook Site has come to end. I'm really liking how this layout turned out. When it comes to my scrapping style, lately I want to document more things about myself for my daughter to read when she gets older the little things that we may forget as we get older.

I needed something to kick in my mojo with full force so I thought it was high time to join a contest. I saw this contest at The Scrapbook Site that will run for 6 weeks. I'm so stoked! We just finished round 1 and we got our assignment for round 2. :) I'm really happy with the way my round 1 layout turned out. New Year, New Resolution

I cannot believe it's a new year already! Here it is February already! Crazy stuffs. So one of my handful of resolutions this year is to be a better blogger. :) I am also planning on taking a ton of pictures so that I have lots of inspiration and scrapping material to keep me busy.
